So what made y’all want to start pnklmnade in the first place?
In 2016, it was just an idea we had while procrastinating in science class. What started as debating favorite rappers and NBA players turned into blueprints for something bigger. We didn’t want fame or money, just to make the kind of art we wanted to see in the world.
When do you want out of pnklmnade,
what does it look like?
It looks like art that connects. Music, film, fashion, design. Stuff that sparks something in you, even if you don’t know why. A raw reflection of the world that’s honest, and real.
What’s the business picture though man? Like, where do y’all see this going?
We see ourselves growing into an internationally recognized creative brand built on refreshing authenticity, meaningful minimalism. We want to connect with people, no matter where they’re from or who they are, and create work that resonates and sticks with them.
What keeps you going, Mike? Why are you still doin’ this pnklmnade stuff every day?
I’m not here because I had a business plan. I’m here because I couldn’t imagine not doing exactly this. I’ve lived every part of it, from basement recording sessions, and all night video edits, to meticulously designing until I can't keep my eyes open. I’m here because I’m an artist.
How would you describe y’alls style? Like if someone’s never heard of y’all before, what should they expect?
Minimal but bold in the details. Everything we drop from the music, to the visuals, to the clothes is all part of the story. If it challenges you or connects with you, we did our job.
What’s your mindset when it comes to building something like this from the ground up, Kaleb?
I love the grind. I know the only thing that beats talent is showing up every day and putting in the work. I’m here to show that I know how to turn an idea into something real, and I have the drive to keep it going everyday.
When y’all dropping? And what should people be expecting from pnklmnade?
Always. There’s always something coming. We want people to see that every move we make from our first demo mixes to our latest drops is part of our story. We want to work towards showing you every step of the process. We want to bring you more art and entertainment in so many ways. Evolution is our identity and we’ll show you. The setbacks, the pivots, the breakthroughs. We want you to see it all and grow with us. This isn’t just a brand, it’s something alive and forever evolving.
